FIVE ON FIVE – Nada Šargin: Do your best and be the best version of yourself

Serbian actress, because of the famous Romanian gymnast Comăneci, has always wanted her name to be Nadia!
She was born in Zrenjanin and she graduated in acting in the professor Vida Ognjenović’s group in Novi Sad. She graduated with Igor Đorđević, Slobodan Stefanović and Ivan Bosiljčić. She is Leading Lady of the National Theater in Belgrade and she received the ”Empress Theodora” award for her first major movie role, and later came the Steria Award, ”Zoran Radmilović” award, ”Miloš Žutić” award … We watched her heartly and we still do in movies and TV series such “Vratiće se rode”, “Grudi”, “Jagodići”, “Sumnjiva lica”, “Nemanjići”, “Dug moru”, “Otac”…
We are sure that our today’s guests will warmly recommend everyone to see the movie “Otac”, the story about a man whose children are being taken away from because of the poverty. It’s a story about a loser, an outcast and a humiliated man who, through his journey on foot from one end of the state to another, out of protest, dignity and desire to prove him both to himself and to the others and driven by despair – he has become a hero.
Nada Šargin also said once that love, embrace, tenderness and energy cannot be compared to anything material, to any career, fame, external factors. ”Ever since I became a mother, I have found a new strength, inspiration, will…”
Regardless of her numerous commitments, Nada answered our five questions and she is going to participate in MOZZART’s Humanitarian Ticket at Noon.
1.Did you practice any sport in the past and which one?
“Yes, I did fencing with foil weapon and with it a point is being scored only by contact with the tip. I did swimming briefly.”
2.Who used to be your sports model, idol in your teens?
“I was very fond of the Romanian gymnast Nadia Comăneci and I wanted that my name was Nadia because of her. The same goes for the phenomenal skater Katherine Witt, the great athlete Carl Lewis and the tennis player Stefan Edberg. I even had the Adidas sneakers with his signature and I adored them because of it.”
3. Which sports club do you carry in the fan’s heart of yours?
“Well, if I have to be a supporter, it is for Partizan because our fencing club “Omladinac” in Zrenjanin was placed in the beautiful Partizan’s building – in the House of Martial Arts. It was in the attic and the building had a lovely big entrance with stairs, columns and huge statues. It’s brilliant and it had a Partizan sign on it.”
4. A sporting event that remained in your memory and that you’ll remember all of your life?
“When Karl Lewis broke his 100m record at the Olympics in Seoul.”
5.A life and sports motto?
”Do your best and be the best version of yourself.”
