Visokoprepodobni arhimanrit Metodije, iguman manastira Hilandara je služio pomen stradalim srpskim vojnicima u spomen – kapeli na vrhu Kajmakčalana!
U nedelju, 31. avgusta 2025. godine, u susret velikom jubileju – 110. godišnjici od dolaska srpske vojske na Krf i bitke na Kajmakčalanu, Visokoprepodobni arhimanrit Metodije, iguman manastira Hilandara je služio pomen stradalim srpskim vojnicima u spomen – kapeli na vrhu Kajmakčalana.
Juče se na Kajmakčalanu, poprištu najtežih borbi na Solunskom frontu tokom Prvog svetskog rata, ponovo čuo vaskršnji tropar, himna koja stradanje preobražava u pobedu i smrt u život.
Spomen – kapela se nalazi na 2. 525 metara nadmorske visine, a južno od kapele se nalazi i velika kosturnica, mesto pokoja mnoštva stradalih srpskih vojnika, osvećena pre tačno 90 godina.
Bitka za Kajmakčalan je prva velika pobeda reorganizovane srpske vojske, sa oko 4. 800 poginulih i oko 2. 000 nestalih vojnika. Na vrhu Kajmakčalana je bilo pohranjeno i srce dr Arčibalda Rajsa, izrazito velikog prijatelja srpskog naroda u najtežim trenucima borbe za oslobođenje.
On Sunday, August 31, 2025, in anticipation of a significant jubilee—the 110th anniversary of the Serbian army’s arrival on Corfu and the Battle of Kaymakchalan—the Very Reverend Archimandrite Methodius, the abbot of the Hilandar Monastery, served a memorial for the fallen Serbian soldiers in the memorial chapel atop Kaymakchalan.
On Kaymakchalan—the site of the fiercest battles on the Salonika Front during World War I—the Paschal troparion was once again heard, a hymn that transforms suffering into victory and death into life.
The memorial chapel stands at an elevation of 2,525 meters, and just south of it lies a large ossuary, the resting place of countless fallen Serbian soldiers, consecrated exactly 90 years ago.
The Battle of Kaymakchalan was the first great victory of the reorganized Serbian army, with approximately 4,800 soldiers killed and around 2,000 reported missing.
At the summit of Kaymakchalan, the heart of Dr. Archibald Reiss, a devoted friend of the Serbian people during their most difficult moments in the liberation struggle, was also enshrined.
У недељу, 31. августа 2025. године, у сусрет великом јубилеју – 110. годишњици од доласка српске војске на Крф и битке на Кајмакчалану, Високопреподобни архиманрит Методије, игуман манастира Хиландара је служио помен страдалим српским војницима у спомен – капели на врху Кајмакчалана.
Јуче се на Кајмакчалану, попришту најтежих борби на Солунском фронту током Првог светског рата, поново чуо васкршњи тропар, химна која страдање преображава у победу и смрт у живот.
Спомен – капела се налази на 2. 525 метара надморске висине, а јужно од капеле се налази и велика костурница, место покоја мноштва страдалих српских војника, освећена пре тачно 90 година.
Битка за Кајмакчалан је прва велика победа реорганизоване српске војске, са око 4. 800 погинулих и око 2. 000 несталих војника. На врху Кајмакчалана је било похрањено и срце др Арчибалда Рајса, изразито великог пријатеља српског народа у најтежим тренуцима борбе за ослобођење.
